Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement for Architectural Services and accompanying Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with McKinney Architects, Inc. for the Fire Station No. 3 Project.

 

Body

In 2015 the City designed and built two prototype Fire Stations (#4 and #8) under the 2012 International Building Code (IBC).  The original intent was to build at least three stations and possibly four under this design. The City has already seen significant savings with the design of Fire Station #4. In October of 2016, the City adopted the 2015 IBC which triggers updating the current set of plans to the new standard. In order to properly design Fire Station #3, a design team of professionals was necessary to bring our prototype plans up to current Code and manipulate the prototype design as needed due to the unique site, zoning, and functionality for the new station.  Location of said site is 221 Sundance Parkway.

 

Cost: $132,500.00
