Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Chasco Constructors for the US 79 and Harrell Parkway Roadway Improvements Project.

On July 19th, 2018 the City held an public bid opening for the Harrell Parkway/ US 79 Roadway Improvements Project. Three sealed bid proposals were submitted, opened, and read aloud by HDR Engineering.
To meet the Local Government Project Policy (LGPP) requirements, a bid tabulation was prepared by HDR Engineering and submitted to the City and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Based upon TxDOT's review it was determined that Patin Construction and Smith Contracting were not on TxDOT's pre-qualified contractor's list and therefore, not eligible to bid on projects of this scale on the State's roadway system.
Based on information received from TxDOT, Chasco Constructors is the only eligible contractor to perform the work on this project. The City of Round Rock accepts the bid of Chasco Constructors, LTD., L.L.P., in the amount of $6,946,432.40. Tx-DOT has submitted a letter of concurrence for the bid on the Harrell Parkway/US 79 Improvements Project.
