This resolution authorizes the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) to execute Supplemental Contract No. 4 with Walker Partners for the Phase 1C Water Treatment Plant Expansion and Phase 2 Land Rights and Stakeholder Coordination Project.
The original Phase 1C and Phase 2 contract was approved by the Round Rock City Council on April 27, 2017. Phase 1C expands the current BCRUA water treatment plant to 32 million gallons-per-day.
Supplemental Contract No. 4 is required to provide for all construction phase services necessary for the completion of the Phase 1C system expansion. Phase 1C consists of two construction bids for the expansion of the interim floating raw water intake and the expansion of the regional water treatment plant. Total construction time is estimated to be twenty months. Construction phase services were anticipated and included in the Phase 1C SWIFT Loan, which was approved and funded by the Texas Water Development Board last year. Total compensation for this amendment, as a time and materials not-to-exceed contract, has been negotiated as $897,200. Round Rock will be responsible for 26.67% of the total supplemental cost which is $239,283.24.
If approved, the new project budget totals will be:
· Phase 1C Water Treatment Plant Expansion Design (Lump Sum) $1,797,600.00
· Phase 1C Construction Phase Services (T&M) $ 897,200.00
· Phase 2 Land Rights & Stakeholder Coordination (Not To Exceed) $2,329,800.00
· NEW TOTAL $5,024,600.00
