Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 3 with Smith Contracting Company, Inc. for the Roundville Lane Project.

The Transportation Department requests that council consider a resolution to approve Change Order/Quantity Adjustment #3 for the Roundville Lane Project.
The Roundville Lane Project involves the reconstruction of Roundville Lane from A.W. Grimes Blvd. to the eastbound frontage road of SH 45 for approximately 2,700 feet. This project consists of a 3-lane concrete roadway, two deceleration lanes, a new traffic signal and an overlay to AW Grimes from SH-45 to ±900' south of Roundville. Change Order/Quantity Adjustment #3 will remove the Bonded Concrete Overlay from the project and introduce a regular mill and overlay to the costs. Additionally, CO/QA #3 adds, and removes, items that were not required due to the discovery of a solid rock sub-grade in several locations; as well as adjusting quantities to match actual field conditions.
The Transportation Department requests that we change the contract to include bid items for overlaying AW Grimes from SH45 to Roundville Lane. The total amount of Change Order #3 equates to $24,682.00.
Additionally, the Transportation Department requests that the contract quantities be adjusted for actual concrete poured to date, flexible base, additional HMAC Type C, and curb & gutter. Additional quantities sum up to $159,915.00. Likewise, deducts should be made for a Bonded Concrete Overlay that wasn't implemented, and lime slurry/lime treated sub-grade that wasn't used. Deducts sum up to $263,544.75. The total amount of Quantity Adjustment #3 equates to $-103,629.75.
The initial contract price of $2,699,825.69 plus the adjustments made through Change Order/Quantity Adjustments #1 & #2, $145,456.25, brought the new contract price to $2,845,281.94.
