These two properties are owned by the Catholic Diocese of Austin and are contiguous to the St. John Vianney Catholic Church property. The 2.03-acre parcel is located at 5 Applegate Circle and the 2.51-acre parcel is located at 8 Lake Drive. The property on Applegate Circle is undeveloped and the church has no current plans for it. The Lake Drive property has several existing buildings, one which is being used as an office.
The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on December 5, 2018 and voted 8-0 to recommend approval of the original zoning. There were four speakers at the public hearing and one adjacent owner submitted a written statement. The speakers expressed concerns about drainage in the area and the maintenance of the private roadways which served the property. The written statement was in opposition to the zoning (no reason given).
