Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Refuse Collection Contract between the City of Round Rock, Texas and Central Texas Refuse, Inc.

Body

On November 22, 2016, the City entered into a Refuse Collection Contract with Central Texas Refuse.  At the time the Contract was executed, the City’s recyclables were processed at WILCO Recycling, which was owned and operated by a third party.  Central Texas Refuse is now the owner and operator of the WILCO Recycling.  The City and Central Texas Refuse desire for Central Texas Refuse to process, package, and market the recyclable materials for conversion into useful products at WILCO Recycling.  This Amendment No. 1 is to include these services in the Refuse Collection Contract with Central Texas Refuse.

In addition, the contractor agrees that the tipping fee for all Recyclable Material it delivers to the Recyclable Material Facility shall be equal to or less than the landfill tipping fee.

In the event, Central Texas Refuse recovers an average amount in excess of $95 per ton from the sale of the City’s processed recyclable material during the calendar month, Central Texas Refuse shall pay 50% of the revenues recovered in excess of $95 per ton to the City of Round Rock.
