The City of Round Rock Transportation Department utilizes concrete materials to make permanent and temporary repairs to City structures throughout the year. These materials are used for curb and gutter and sidewalk repair and maintenance as well as the restoration of underground utility repairs, such as water main breaks as well as storm and sanitary sewer repairs.
The Invitation for Bid was advertised and sent to a total of nine (9) bidders, which included a total of three (3) Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs). On October 12, 2018 the City publicly opened and read aloud the bids received for concrete supply services. The City received one (1) bid response for this service from Centex Materials, LLC.
We anticipate using approximately 1,750 cubic yards of concrete in our current fiscal cycle, expending approximately $141,750 based off of this contract price of $81.00 per cubic yard. The term of this agreement is for sixty months (60) with a total not to exceed of $708,750.00.
After a full review of the bid, the Transportation Department recommends award of the contract to Centex Materials, LLC.
