This item will allow the purchase and installation of new playground equipment at Memorial Park. The new play equipment will be a "retro" 70's theme to fit alongside the future improvements as part of Heritage Trail. The Heritage Trail project includes a 10' wide trail detailing the history of Round Rock as a timeline. The project spans from Bathing Beach at Chisholm Trail Road to Mays St and include improvements at Bathing Beach Park, Chisholm Trail Crossing Park, and Memorial Park.
The programmatic elements of the project will include decade specific historical, educational, arts & cultural, and general park aspects that encourage community events and development revitalization along the corridor. Memorial Park will reflect the 70's decade along the trail, so this playground will fit in with that theme.
