Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Advance Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the Gattis School Road Segment 6 Project.

Body

This request is for Council to authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Advance Funding Agreement (AFA) for an Off-System Locally Funded Project with the State of Texas, acting through the Texas Department of Transportation regarding the Gattis School Road Segment 6 Project, being the widening of Gattis School Road from west of Sonoma Trail to east of Red Bud Lane. This AFA will allow the City to recover 70% of the estimated construction costs for the project from Federal Funds through the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program (STBG). The Transportation office secured these funds through the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) grant program. This 70% amount is estimated at $9,100,000.00. The anticipated cost to the City for this money is estimated at $72,800.00 from the City to TxDOT for the State's Direct costs to manage the STBG program for the FHWA.
