Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Corrosion Eliminators, LLC for the Clearwell No. 2 Ground Storage Tank Rehab 2019 Project.

Body

This Quantity Adjustment No. 1 (QA No.1) is for the Clearwell No. 2 Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation 2019 project. Clearwell No. 2 was constructed in 1986 and is one of two steel ground storage tanks at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) used for chlorine contact time and storage.  The tank was last coated in 2003 and was the next water storage tank to be rehabilitated (blasted and recoated on the interior and exterior) that was noted in the 2015 Water Tank Assessment Project provided by HOT Inspection Services, Inc.

Once the tank was drained, it was evident that to insure the tanks extended life, it would be beneficial to replace all the rafters and knuckle supports.  The original contract only allowed for replacement of 30% of these items based on the 2015 inspection of the clearwell.

The utility staff requests the City Council to approve QA No. 1 for $74,060, increasing the original contract amount of $501,480 to $575,540.

Cost: $74,060
