Consider a resolution requesting that the Texas Department of Transportation allow the City of Round Rock to utilize certain sections of the MKT Right-of-Way to facilitate the extension of Arterial A.

This request is for Council to authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) for an Off-System Locally Funded Project with the State of Texas, acting through the Texas Department of Transportation regarding the Arterial A (Kenney Fort Boulevard Segments 2 and 3) Project, being the extension of Arterial A (Kenney Fort Boulevard) from Forest Creek Drive to SH 45. This MOU requests that TxDOT allow the City to utilize those sections of the MKT right-of-way as shown in Exhibit "A", attached to the MOU, to facilitate the extension of Arterial A (Kenney Fort Boulevard) from it's current south terminus to SH 45. The MOU will contain provisions stating that the MKT right-of-way is subject to future modifications and that the City shall be solely responsible for removing or re-aligning any City improvements within the encroachment area to accommodate a future MoKan transportation corridor facility.
