Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with N.G. Painting, L.P for the Downtown Historic Water Tank Project.

Body

The original downtown water tank now referred to as the Downtown Historic Water Tank was erected by Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Company (PDM) in 1936 and immediately placed in service.  It remained in service until 1986 when the Lake Creek well system and ground storage tank were constructed. The tank is an icon of Round Rock and is visible to the entire downtown area. Due to the age of the tank, the Utility Department staff recommended a high-level structural evaluation of the tank and associated repairs to insure the tank’s integrity.

On June 6th, the City received three Competitive Sealed Proposals (CSP) for the associated repairs and new coating of the Downtown Historic Water Tank ranging from $371,120 to $928,200. The proposals were evaluated based on the criteria set forth in the contract documents. N.G. Painting, L.P. submitted the lowest bid and represented the greatest value to the City based on the CSP scoring.

Cost: $371,120.00
