Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Motorola Solutions, Inc. for the purchase of replacement radios and related equipment for the Fire Department

The requested purchase is for the replacement of the Fire Departments existing Apex line. This will complete the Motorola upgrade of the Apex line of Public safety radios in 2019. The last production run was in 2013, and after 2018 it will no longer provide support, or parts for those radios. This replacement is occurring throughout Public safety agencies at various rates. RRPD is going into its fourth year of their replacement schedule. We will still get support from Wilco Radio shop, and also have enough replacement parts to suffice till our completion of the radios replacements. This the third year of the approved FY17 new program (3) Yr. replacement program for RRFD.
Cost: $397,853.62
