Body
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) was developed in 1974 and works to ensure decent affordable housing and to provide services to qualified low to moderate income individuals and/or families in our community. To be eligible for CDBG funding, activities must meet one of the three national objectives: 1) benefit low to moderate income persons 2) prevent slum or blight 3) meet an urgent need.

The City of Round Rock is a federal entitlement community under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. As a HUD entitlement community, the City is required to prepare a Five Year Consolidated Plan (CP) in order to implement any federal programs that fund housing, community development and economic development within the community. The City of Round Rock CP covers the period from FY 2019 through FY 2023 (October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2024). The FY 2019-2020 Action Plan (AP) covers the period from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. The City of Round Rock is awarded $686,770 in CDBG funds for the 2019-2020 program year.

The 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan includes the following projects totaling $686,770:

Public Service Activities ($103,000), Frontier Park Improvements ($246,416), Single Family Rehabilitation ($200,000) and Program Administration ($137,354).

All requirements for public hearings were satisfied during the development of these plans. Notice of 30 day comment period for these plans was published in the Round Rock Leader on June 8, 2019. The Draft AP and CP were available for public review from June 10, 2019 through July 10, 2019 on the city website, at the Alan R.
