Title
Consider a resolution determining that Competitive Sealed Proposal is the delivery method which provides the best value for the Downtown Historic Water Tank Lighting Project.
Body
The original water tank located in downtown City of Round Rock was erected by Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Company in 1936 and remained in use until 1986 when it was decommissioned. The Downtown Historic Water Tank now serves as a historical downtown monument for the City of Round Rock. Currently, the City is engaged in a recoating and rehabilitation project for the tank which will be completed in November 2019.The Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) along with the Utility and Environmental Services Department (UES) have been tasked with the addition of a new year-round lighting system for the tank. This project will commence once the current recoating and rehabilitation project is complete. Due to the tank’s age, location and type of work associated with the lighting system, UES would like to use the Competitive Sealed Proposal delivery method to bid this project. By using this method, the City will be able to obtain the most qualified contractor which will in turn provide the best value to the City.
