Title

Consider an ordinance changing the name of a street located in the Vizcaya subdivision from Arezzo View to Strada Drive. (First Reading)*

Body

This item will change the name of a street in Vizcaya because it is a duplicate of one in the city's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction that is also in the same zip code. When a new subdivision is submitted for review to the Planning & Development Services Department, all of the proposed street names are cleared with Williamson County staff who maintain a master list of street names in use or reserved for use by a subdivision under development. Arezzo was mistakenly cleared for use even though it was on reserve for the Siena subdivision at the time Vizcaya was originally submitted to the city. The post office recently caught the mistake, notified city and county staff, and requested the name change to prevent issues with mail delivery and potentially with emergency response vehicles. It was determined that the Arezzo in Vizcaya would have to change for two reasons: the name was requested for Siena first, and the amount of homes already constructed on Arezzo in Siena vastly outnumber those in Vizcaya.
