Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract No. 2 with K. Friese & Associates, Inc. for the Kenney Fort Boulevard Extension Project.

Kenney Fort Boulevard is a major north/south arterial roadway shown on the 2017 Transportation Master Plan to eventually connect from Georgetown across Round Rock to Pflugerville. The first segment of Kenney Fort Boulevard between Joe DiMaggio and Forest Creek was completed during the summer of 2013. Future planning for the southern and northern sections of Kenney Fort Boulevard is ongoing. Staff has been mindful of the future right-of-way needs for this roadway as development progresses and the City plans for future growth. Recently, the City has entered into a development agreement for property that encompasses a segment of this roadway alignment. This SWA #2 will allow for the necessary revisions to the original project scope as follows:
This SWA allows for the development of 3 separate PS&E packages to allow for the completion of this segment of roadway in multiple phases. Segment 4A, Segment 4B and Segment 4C as described in the Exhibit B document. The final result will be a 6-lane divided arterial section from Joe DiMaggio Blvd to Old Settlers Blvd.
The initial contract amount was $450,961.00 and SWA #1 was $79,745.00 for a total cost to date of $530,706.00. This SWA #2 will add $505,778.00 to the current contract for a total contract amount of $1,036,484.00. It is anticipated that this work will be completed by 01/22/2021.
