Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Advance Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation regarding construction of a railroad grade separation structure in connection with the RM 620 Project.

Body

The RM 620 Safety Improvements project from Deep Wood Dr to IH 35 will improve safety and enhance mobility in the project area. The project includes a bridge to carry RM 620 traffic over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and Chisholm Trail Road. In order to maintain access to businesses and residences in the vicinity of the proposed bridge, at-grade local access roads will be constructed between Lake Creek Drive and Chisholm Trail Road. A second bridge is proposed to carry RM 620 traffic over Lake Creek Drive. Federal environmental clearance has been received and right-of-way (ROW) acquisition is complete.

This AFA allows for the City and TxDOT to enter into an agreement for the City to reimburse TxDOT for the cost of decorative railing at the UPRR crossing and the ILSN's installed on the new signals in the project as TxDOT considers those items upgrades. This cost is identified as $ 28,170.00 as detailed in the attached AFA.
