Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Quantity Adjustment/Change Order No. 1 with Lone Star Paving for the 2017 Street Maintenance Program (SMP) Residential Type F Overlay Project 4.
Body
The 2017 Street Maintenance Project (SMP)-4 consisted of a Type-F asphalt overlay in the neighborhoods of Egger Acres, Mesa Park, Chapel Hill North, Willowbend Estates, Sunrise Vista, Sunrise Park, Settlement, Laurel Ridge, Vista Heights, Stoney Brook, Indian Ridge, Laurel Ridge, Eagle Ridge, as well as, parts of Lakeside, Meadow Lake, Mesa Ridge and Apache Oaks.
Throughout the progress of the job, it was decided to reduce the depth of our pavement repairs to encompass a larger square footage area and repair more overall pavement quantity. Reducing the depth to increase surface area ultimately saved in the total quantity of repairs. Along with this, a very large amount of the concrete found on the ground didn’t actually warrant being replaced and the quantity in the book ended up extremely high. These items, along with a few other minor savings, the project saved $500,780.51 from the contracted amount.
The initial contract price was $5,064,040.00. The Transportation Department recommends approval of Change Order/Quantity Adjustment #1, for a total savings between original and adjusted contract price of $500,780.51 bringing the new contract price to $4,563,259.49.
