This item is a purchase with Preferred Technologies, LLC to replace the legacy door badging - access control systems in (24) facilities across the City of Round Rock.
The door badging system has aged out in our existing facilities and is in need of replacement. Pref-Tech will install new panels, up to date badge readers, and the Genetec software\badge management system. This new system offers open source Mercury control panels which will allow IT to better manage the software and make it easier for General Services to maintain the facilities hardware.
Purchase will be made using DIR-TSO-3632. Proposals were received from three DIR companies; Preferred Technologies LLC, Knight Security Systems and Convergint Technologies. Preferred Technologies was selected based on lowest price and referrals from previous similar projects.
This project was identified and approved in the FY20 budget process and will be funded by a split from the IT and General Services bucket funds.
Cost: $211,016.40
