This purchase is for a one-time purchase with Vermeer Texas-Louisiana, Inc. for a Vermeer BC1800XL with 130 HP Cummins Tier 4 Final Large Diameter Chipper needed to support City Operations.
The larger chipper will enable our forestry crew to shred more brush in the field. This chipper can take on larger diameter logs, eliminating the need to load them on a trailer, or in a truck. This chipper also comes with a winch option. This winch will be used to lift heavy trees off the ground, and guide them into the chipper. This will reduce the risk of injury to the operator, and save time, by not having to cut the tree up in sections to feed the chipper. We are replacing Vermeer BC1400 14" Chipper.
