Title
Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to DXP Enterprises, Inc. for the purchase of a FloWay Pump.
Body
The City of Round Rock’s primary source for drinking water comes from the High Service Pump Station (HSPS) at the Water Treatment Plant located on Westinghouse Road. The HSPS consists of 11 pumps. Six of the pumps direct treated water to the west side of the City and the remaining five pumps send water to the east side. The pump and motor request in this resolution is for one of the original pumps installed 23 years ago. This pump and motor has never been pulled due to failure, but has seen a significant amount of use over the years. We do not have a spare pump for this pump station ready to be dropped in the pump can. Due to the criticality of this pump station and the age of this asset, we do not want to have a failure in the peak water demand days of summer. The current pump will be pulled, inspected, and repaired and will be used as a shelf spare in the event it is needed. The Utilities and Environmental Services Department recommends entering into an agreement with DXP Enterprises, Inc. to purchase a replacement pump and motor for the HSPS in the amount of $103,250.
Cost: $103,250
