Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting Co., Inc. for the Hesters Crossing Downstream Channel Improvements Project.

On May 29, 2019, the City executed an Engineering Services contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. This contract included services for the analysis, evaluation and design of stream stabilization to address and repair erosion issues within the existing channel located downstream of Old West Drive behind the Learning Tree Day School.
The design included erosion repair plans, which include the installation of rock gabion walls, regrading of the channel bed and embankments, placing rock riprap, and the installation of soil retention blankets and seed along the outside of the channel.
On February 11, 2020, the City received six bids for the construction of the designed improvements. Upon tabulation of the bids, Dalrymple Gravel & Construction Co., Inc. submitted the lowest base bid in the amount of $159,577. The City is recommending contracting with Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting Co., Inc. for the execution of the construction of the Base Bid for the Hesters Crossing Channel Downstream Improvements Project for a total contract award of $159,577. The engineer’s construction estimate for the Base Bid was $145,000.
