Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Texas Materials for the 2020 Street Maintenance Program (SMP) Arterials Project.

A total of five (5) sealed bids were received and opened on March 24, 2020 for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $4,592,087.75 to $6,694,431.85. Texas Materials from Cedar Park, Texas, submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $4,592,087.75. The engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for this project was $5.8 million. Texas Materials sucessfully completed a similar project for the City within the last two years and have proven they are capable of performing the work.
After reviewing the contractor's experience and bid price, we recommend award of this project to Texas Materials in the amount of $4,592,087.75.
