Consider public testimony regarding a proposed substantial amendment to the 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan adding Code Enforcement and COVID-19 Assistance as priority needs.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the City of Round Rock $397,375 in CDBG-CV funds. This proposed amendment will add the CDBG-CV funds to the CDBG 2019 Action Plan. Proposed projects include the following:
Economic Development (Grants to small businesses) $250,000
Public Services: Rent/Mortgage Assistance, food pantry assistance: $100,000
Purchase of test kits: $47,375
In addition to the CDBG-CV funds, the proposed amendment includes adding Code Enforcement as a Goal and Project in the 5 year con plan (2019-2023) and the CDBG 2019 action plan. This proposed amendment will fund 1.5 positions for code enforcement.
Public comment was from May 4, 2020 to May 14, 2020 and the pubic hearing notice was published in the Round Rock Leader on May 2, 2020 and also posted on the city website. Any comments received will be taken into consideration.
