Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with Chasco Constructors for the Kenney Fort Boulevard - Segment 4B project.

The Transportation Department is pleased to submit for approval the Kenney Fort Blvd. Seg. 4B roadway extension project. The limits are from Old Settlers Blvd. south 1.25 miles. The proposed work is an urban half section of the ultimate 6-lane divided roadway. This project is a partnership established by a prior development agreement between Meritage Homes and the City. Meritage Homes is contributing the initial $1.7 million dollars towards the construction cost and the City is responsible for the remainder.
Bids were opened on June 5th at 11:00 am. The engineering firm of KT Civil Solutions reviewed the individual bids for errors and all were found to be accurate. There were 10 responsible bidders for the project, listed as follows:

The bids ranged from $3,548,558.05 to $4,886,156.65 with the low bidder being Chasco Construction. The engineer recommended that Meritage award the contract to Chasco Construction for the low bid amount of $3,548,558.05. Meritage Homes responsibility will be $1,775,794.00 and the City's responsibility will be $1,772,764.05.
