Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with Williamson County and participating entities for the November 3, 2020 General and Special Elections.

Body

This item will allow us to contract with Williamson County to conduct our November General and Special elections for us as well as split all election costs with all of the other entities also holding a November election in Williamson County.

There are 37 different entities holding November elections in Williamson County. The total cost for the entire November election is estimated at $1,340,000 with Round Rock accounting for 5.7009% of that, bringing our total to approximately $77,000. As a note, had the election been held in May as originally scheduled, the total election cost was estimated at $400,000 and Round Rock would have accounted for 12.5% of that, bringing our estimated total to $50,000. With the election now being in November, Round Rock's cost has increased by approximately $27,000 just for the Williamson County portion.

Cost: Approximately $77,000
