Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Precision Pump Systems for the purchase of a submersible pump for the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Body

The City of Round Rock owns and operates the Brushy Creek East Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The influent lift station (ILS) handles all of the incoming wastewater from Round Rock and the partnering cities. Round Rock is responsible for maintaining the ILS. One of the pumps has damage and needs to be replaced. Precision Pump is the sole source for the pumps that are in the ILS. These particular pumps are required as the guide rails and piping is specifically designed to work with these types of pumps.

Precision pump provided the quote in July of 2020. The Utilities & Environmental Services Department recommends purchasing a ILS pump from Precision Pump for the amount of $149,900.  This cost is paid for by the partner Cities based on the annual wastewater flow percentage in the system.  Round Rock’s portion is 60.29 percent which equates to $90,374.71.
