Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract with #1 with LJA, Inc. for the development of 100% construction Plans, Specifications and Engineering (PS&E) documents for the ultimate construction of a new new 5 lane divided arterial roadway with continuous left turn lane and off-street shared paths, Red Bud Lane South Extension.
This project will upgrade an existing two-lane roadway to a new five-lane divided including: intersections, curb and gutter, and pedestrian improvements. Design should be completed in 2022 with construction to begin in 2022.
The original contract with LJA, Inc. for the schematic work on the project to bring the plans to 30% complete was for $550,863.65 - R-2019-0393. To bring the plans to 100% completion, the Transportation Department recommends approval of supplemental contract #1 for $1,370,142.09. This brings the total project cost to $1,921,005.74.
