Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Contract No. 2 with BGE, Inc. for the Red Bud Lane North Project.

This project will upgrade an existing three-lane roadway to a new four-lane divided including: intersection, curb and gutter, and pedestrian improvements. Design should be completed in 2022 with construction to begin in 2022.
This Supplemental No. 2 will take into account additional engineering services required to bring the plans to 100% completion. Additional work is required to acquire additional ROW, accommodate changes required following the decision to move from asphalt pavement to concrete pavement, and to address storm sewer realignment work due to waterline conflicts recently identified.
This Supplemental No. 2 amounts to an additional $49,912.00 to the contract. The original contract was for $436,411.52 (R-2019-3066) for the development of the schematic or roughly 30% plan completion. Supplemental no. 1 amounting to $689,788.50 ( R-2021-057) was approved to take the Plans, Specifications and Estimate to 100% complete plans. The addition of Supplemental No. 2 brings the contract total to $1,176,112.02.
