Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) regarding the occupation and maintenance of the ticketing office in the Downtown Transit Terminal.

Body

To Enter into an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) for the utilization of the Round Rock Transit Center.   CARTS is a political subdivision of the State of Texas and provides public transportation services in rural communities. The purpose of this Agreement is for the City to provide a ticketing office at the City’s Downtown Transit Terminal in return CARTS will provide the staff to operate the Terminal during normal working hours.  This agreement will provide connections for Round Rock residents to the Greyhound Interstate passenger/packaging network and all points serviced by the CARTS Interurban network.  CARTS staff will also provide information on Round Rock transit services and assist persons in making connections with Capital Metro and other travel needs.
