Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Georgetown for design services and construction of the Chandler Road water line extension from FM 1660 to State Highway 130.

Body

Williamson County was the recipient of a significant amount of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding that they have designated to Cities throughout the County for future water infrastructure projects. The County made available an amount of up to $14,000,000 to the Cities of Georgetown and Round Rock from the County’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLRF Funds) to reimburse the Cities for eligible expenses. Round Rock has agreed to be the Subrecipient of the funds for this project on behalf of Georgetown and Round Rock.

These funds will be utilized for a water supply project that is just one of many future water line segments that will be constructed to meet future needs in Williamson County. Our project, referred to as Segment A, will bring Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer groundwater and transport it to existing and future customers in the County. This segment extends a 36-inch waterline along Chandler Road from FM 1660 to State Highway 130.

This Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between the two Cities outlines the cost reimbursement for Round Rock managing and inspecting the project on behalf of the Cities.  The ILA designates each City’s financial responsibilities for the following:  cost of construction above the $14,000,000 from ARPA, legal, construction inspection, geotechnical, land acquisition, and project management services.  All of these costs will be shared equally between each City.
