Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Meet and Confer Agreement between the City of Round Rock and the Round Rock Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 3082.

This is the third Meet and Confer agreement with the Round Rock Firefighters Association and, if approved, it will expire on September 30, 2025.
This agreement includes a first year pay scale adjustment and a reduction of “steps" from 15 to 14. For years two and three the agreement reflects a 3% annual adjustment across all steps and ranks.
Language has been updated to give flexibility to the Chief to implement shift adjustments to better serve the community. Language has been amended to give the Chief an enhanced ability to prefer hiring qualifying paramedics for fire suppression positions. Educational requirements for promotion continue to increase as added in 2018 and enhanced in this agreement. There are a number of other small administrative changes to the contract as well as language simplification.
The City Manager’s office held multiple meetings with the Firefighters Association Executive Board and feel this agreement makes appropriate changes to the pay and benefits received by those covered under the agreement. The Firefighters Association membership voted to approve the agreement in September.
