Title

Consider a resolution determining that John King Construction, Ltd. provides the best value for the City for the Fire Station No. 1 Project and authorizing the Mayor to execute a Standard Form of Agreement.

Body

The City of Round Fire Department has identified City owned property at 2901 Settlement Dr. as an optimal location to build a Fire Station. The location would replace the Central Fire Station and best serve the area by reducing response times. McKinney York Architects has updated the City’s prototype Fire Station plans for code compliance and the project has been solicited to the General Contracting Community.

This resolution is for approval that John King Construction, Ltd. provides the best value for the City for Fire Station No. 1 construction. Competitive sealed proposal is a method of construction that allows the City of Round Rock to hire a contractor based off qualifications and low bid equaling the best value. The Fire Station No. 1 solicitation received four qualified proposers. John King Construction, Ltd., after scoring and ranking by a selection committee, was found to be the most qualified and lowest proposed price.
