Exempt from competitive bidding requirements - Section 252.022(1).

This item authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract with Austin Wood Recycling to assist in the clean up of trees and brush from the ice storm in late January.  This contract will include grinding some of the brush/tree debris, as well as disposal of debris that the City hauls to their location.  While the Parks and Recreation Department Forestry Division has a tub grinder and some storage capacity at the Brushy Recycling Center, the amount of damage caused by the ice storm far surpasses the manpower and resources that the City crews have to be able to respond in a timely manner and deliver the response the residents of Round Rock expect and deserve.  This contract with Austin Wood Recycling will supplement the work that City crews will be competing.
