Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Contract with Patin Construction LLC for the Chandler Branch and Dry Branch Channel Maintenance Improvements Project.

On November 30, 2021, the City entered into an Engineering Services contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. The contract included providing construction documents for improvements for two existing channels, Chandler Branch and Dry Branch.
The design included tree removal, clearing and grubbing, channel excavation, and regarding to restore the channel cross-sections back to their original conditions. Other improvements included adding new permanent rock riprap entrances for future maintenance access, scour hole repair work with rock riprap, and replacing a section of an existing stormwater line.
On February 21, 2023, the City received three bid for the construction of the designed improvements. The City recommends contracting with Patin Construction LLC for a total Base Bid Plus Alternative of $644,239 for the construction of the Chandler Branch and Dry Branch Channel Maintenance Improvements Project. The engineer’s construction estimate was $628,536.
