Title

Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Professional Consulting Services Agreement with HOT Inspections, Inc. related to the Barton Hill Composite Elevated Tank and McNeil Ground Storage Tank Recoating Project.

Body

Steel tanks require interior and exterior coating rehabilitation approximately every 15-18 years to protect the tank's integrity. The City has set aside funding for an annual tank coating rehabilitation program. Based on recent inspections, the Barton Hill Elevated Storage Tank (EST) was constructed in 2004 and has a capacity of 2,700,000 gallons. The McNeil Ground Storage Tank (GST) was constructed in 1978 and has a capacity of 750,000 gallons.

The City requests entering into an agreement with HOT Inspection Services, Inc. to assist with contract preparation and conduct on-site visits for quality assurance surveillance of the welding, sandblasting, and painting during the rehabilitation of the Barton Hill Composite EST and the McNeil GST.  Reasonable measures will be taken by HOT Inspection Services, Inc. performing these services to protect the City against defects and deficiencies in the Contractor's work.  HOT Inspection Services will also provide an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and NACE Certified Coating Inspector. The total cost for this contract will be $135,700.

Cost: 135,700.00
